The story

As darkness settles over the coastal city of Bata and the capital Malabo, skewers of Nvohe sizzle across lively open-air market stalls and roadside bars. While sharing historical roots with Sahelian suya due to regional trade routes, the Equatoguinean variant developed a distinct profile featuring local alligator pepper, wild forest dika, and a punchy garlic-chilli wash. Street vendors always slice the beef against the grain into gossamer-thin ribbons and press the seasoned peanut crust directly into the meat with a heavy wooden spatula to prevent scorching on the grill.
