The story

Crafted daily by Fula master bakers across Sierra Leonean towns, this iconic loaf is bought steaming hot at street-corner bakeries to accompany morning tea and fried eggs. While visually reminiscent of a French baguette, Fula bread possesses a denser, more satisfying crumb designed specifically for dipping and absorbing rich broths. The characteristic blistered, crackling crust is traditionally achieved by introducing steam into masonry ovens using wet palm fronds laid across glowing embers.
