The story

Nyembwe means palm oil or palm fruit pulp in the Myene language of coastal Gabon. Considered the undisputed national dish of Gabon, it showcases the indispensable role of the oil palm tree across the Central African rainforest belt. Traditionally prepared with smoked poultry or wild game, it balances rich nutty fats with woodsmoke and chili heat.
