The story

Born from Mandé culinary traditions and ubiquitous across Abidjan maquis and family celebrations, gnamakoudji provides an intense, restorative kick after heavy meals. It is custom-tailored for baptisms, Tabaski feasts, and Sunday gatherings where it cuts through rich braised meats. Traditional brewers extract the ginger juice by crushing mature, fibrous rhizomes using wooden mortars before cold-pressing, which prevents the heat from blender blades from prematurely scorching the raw gingerol compounds.
