The story

Deep within the volcanic foothills of Mount Cameroon in the Southwest Region, Nkeng is an ancestral delicacy prepared by the Bakweri people for wedding banquets and coronation ceremonies. The dessert bridges the sweet richness of overripe plantains with the earthy starch of freshly harvested red cocoyam. Historically wrapped in fragrant Thaumatococcus leaves and slow-steamed over embers, the natural sugars caramelize to produce a deep amber, custardy texture prized across generations.
