The story

Originating among the Mandé peoples of Mali, Tiguadegena (literally 'sauce from peanut paste') is the historical progenitor of West Africa's beloved groundnut stews. The addition of pounded dried smoked fish (djégué djô) provides an earthy, savory umami base deeply prized in Bamako home cooking.
