The story

Crafted by the Owambo people of north-central Namibia, Omagongo heralds the annual marula harvest festival (Oshituthi shOmagongo) between February and April. The beverage is traditionally pressed using a clean cow horn (ongalo) or sharpened cattle rib to pierce the tough fruit exocarp without bruising the seed. Fermentation is powered entirely by wild ambient yeasts living on the fruit skins, creating a naturally effervescent, vitamin C-rich nectar.
